This work interrogates gossip as a form that both protects and disperses information. I began by researching online gossip blogs, including blind items, before extending the project into written interventions in public space and tea parties organised as oral sites of exchange. The project culminated in a sound performance at Perdu in February 2026.

The performance drew on gossip gathered over two years through locally hosted tea parties, postcard installation, and bathroom door installation, where participants were invited to leave written gossip. During the tea parties, more gossip was collected, but also the written fragments were reviewed and reinterpreted to remove specific identifiers, leaving only clues about each situation. The texts were then read aloud by an unseen voice. With each piece of gossip, a light moved across the audience, temporarily positioning different people as the possible subject of what was being described, replicating the logic of a kiss cam.

The work uses anonymity to explore how language can obscure and reveal at the same time. Gossip becomes a system that can produce truth without ever confirming it. Although the final project culminated in performance, it developed through an extensive research process: collecting, editing, recirculating, editing, and respeaking.
