I'm jealous of the rain

Rain does a lot of great things: rivers, watering plants, etc... But it also makes puddles. They stay there for a while and, when they disappear, they leave everything almost as they found it. Because of that, I find them the most beautiful thing that rain does.

And I’m jealous, I would like to make puddles too. One week it didn’t rain much, so it was my turn to make them.

I’m also currently obsessed with a little accident that happened to me. When one pours water into a cup, depending on its shape, the first drops can slide and drip from the other side.

I used Blender simulations and my knowledge in physics for the opposite of design optimization, trying to find the shape that a cup would have to have to make this slightly more likely to happen. Then, with 3D printing and ceramics I made a cup that has two walls, the outside one has the shape of Ikea’s design and the inside the catenary mathematical function.

The cup works normally, but it’s waiting slightly more impatiently for the accident to happen.
