Valentina Cadena Renza

Valentina Cadena Renza (Colombia, 1995) works between installation and performance to signal the perverse in the banal acceptance of fascism, sex and spirituality. Valentina grew up in the aftermath of narcotraffic's aspirational fantasy, hardcore catholicism and the privilege of an early and unsupervised internet access. Her work is infected by netspeak, online piracy, pixelated glittery images and the inevitable delays and mistranslations that came with being situated in the “Global South”. Since the internet is estranged to the concept of ambiguity, her work embraces stereotypes and the politically incorrect.
