Yasmine is a visual artist and chef based in Amsterdam, working with plant-based cooking, installations and narrative fiction.

Her work counters mainstream climate catastrophism with a “poetics of the possible”, emphasizing the role of imagination within the ecological discourse.

Driven by a deep interest in imagining alternative futures amidst the climate crisis, her practice is inspired by critical posthumanism, to develop situated works and speculative fiction (SF).

In 2025, she founded the Kitchen Department: a student-led department designed for Sandberg and Gerrit Rietveld Academie students and alumni whose practices evolves around food.
