Biography

Javier Mars is an interdisciplinary artist living and working between Amsterdam and Madrid. Through installation, sculpture, film, and performance, his work investigates unstable narratives shaped by territory and collective memory. Mars incorporates a variety of media into his process, including field recordings, local archives, found objects, moving image and folklore. He constructs site-specific situations where traces, latent histories, and atmospheres remain active.
