Biography

Yolane Rais (b. 1995, Switzerland) is a nomadic artist using photography, video and installation to study human traces and animal perspectives. Living in her self-built truck with her dog Eevee, her work envisions interspecies coexistence as resistance, weaving interconnected stories that honor transformation, myth and autonomy.

Temporary Constellation - retrieved by a wandering presence

Temporary Constellation is a living tapestry, a container for organic chaos and a vision into the future not as a guide but as an invitation to get lost. Eevee, a dog in constant motion, traces a cartography of the nowhere across time and instinct, weaving together human and non-human, the glue between us all. We live in a six-wheeler, baked by the sun like forgotten vegetables, witnessing landscapes in transformation, breathing together in one pulsing rhythm. Today’s maps track us via pocket computers, we are constantly aware of where we are, and they know too, so we try to leave them behind. Humans always think too much, I'm just here enjoying the moment, playing with bones. This human I've chosen to follow tells me it's art, I don't understand what that means. And you, what are you doing in this garage? Just kidding, I'd never ask you that, otherwise you'd start thinking too much too, enjoy with me, take a wooden stick ;)
