Biography
Hanneke Klaver is a Dutch mixed-media artist, moving amid Lo-Fi illusion and disillusion, using herself as testobject. Her BA in Product Design and MA at Sandberg Institute nurtured a hands-on research methodology exploring labor cultures and gender roles. Her work spans moving image, prop-making and performance, incorporating behind-the-scenes elements. Hanneke also holds a sauna master certificate.
Charlie got a new cut
In the road movie 'Charlie got a new cut' the question ‘who is Charlie?’ is not so important. It could be a colleague, a client, a dog or yourself. Based on the filmmaker's own experiences, the journey travels through different Dutch working environments in which the scripted and unscripted interactions between bodies, tools, and spaces are explored. The towels of the sauna master unfold the road. The scissors of the groomer take the (short)-cuts. And the civil servant’s coffee keeps the vehicle running. Green Screen leads the way in many different material forms.
