Pim Boreel is graduating on an individual trajectory and will exhibit his graduating work, Light Line(s) for Oblique Angels, at Project Space 38/40.

Pim is an artist working through sound, resonance, and material tension. His work operates at the threshold of noise and silence, where listening shifts from perception into bodily and affective modes of knowing. Through installations, performances, and compositional environments, he investigates how vibration and movement unsettle fixed perceptions of linear time, reorganise spatial relations, and open conditions in which friction, vulnerability, and transformation can emerge

Light Line(s) for Oblique Angels, by Pim Boreel unfolds through a constellation of inherited and found materials, archival imagery, sound, and ritual objects passed on throughgenerations. Emerging from a year of somatic movement practices and embodied listening, the work approaches the bodymind as a site where memory lingers beyond language, embedded within bones, voice, breath, and bodily waters.Traces of experience reorganise themselves through movement, relation, and attunement, activating dormant resonances that echo across time. The projectreflects on how memory is carried when only a glimpse, sensation, or fragranceremains imprinted within the nervous system.

Within the work, opposing yet mutually attracting timelines are brought into an interrelated field of tension. Rather than seeking unification, the work inhabits a continuous movement between worlds, where spectral histories encounter one another through exposure, endurance, and exchange.

Listening becomes a mediating practice through which internal states and external environments permeate, interfere, and co-shape one another. Here, noise and silence act as interdependent forces, generating the friction through which relations become perceptible.

Resonant undercurrents swell and flow across bodies, materials, and durations, while connections of sensorial sonance form a web of relations in continuous transformation. Time turns into scent, space emerges at the threshold of shadows, and beating waves become vectors of the in-between, renewing themselves in every reverberant trail.

The project reflects on tension as a transformative materiality and asks what it means to listen with and through it. To tremble is to awaken and soften what lies beneath the skin, connecting what is above with what is below. Micro-movements, shifting weight, cracking bones, and the release of air become modes of transmission through which meaning begins to leak from flesh and blood. Here, tension is felt not as something to overcome, but as a generative force through which memory, relation, and perception continuously reorganise themselves, opening a space for holding complexity without demanding resolution.
