Hibernation
During our residency workshop at Boisbuchet, we worked on the construction and ritual activation of a temporary sauna, meant to be used during winter. The project proposed hibernation as an active state — a way of adapting to the surroundings and embracing temporality.
The Domaine de Boisbuchet is a magical place. Yet it becomes even more special when empty. Being the only ones walking through the muddy fields, taking refuge in heated spaces, facing hurricane-like storms, invading the workshop, bonding with Eric the gardener, cooking together, organizing ping-pong tournaments, telling ghost stories, and celebrating simple, wholesome moments.
During the month of February, we shared a beautiful experience that proved how well we work together — how naturally things unfold when a team brings the right attitude and energy, regardless of setbacks and complications. We leave with precious memories, and behind us remain an immediate sauna, a chilling spot, and a beautiful stove.
