Un.focus

Un.focus is a conceptual and visual investigation into the act of framing and focusing—both visually and intellectually. The project questions the reductive ways in which we construct reality through categorisation, naming, and simplification, proposing instead a process of reframing that opens space for multiple ways of seeing. Using glass as a medium, it employs visual blurring and distortion to destabilise conventional ways of seeing and generate alternative perspectives. This exploration extends into concrete poetry, where the relationship between text and form exposes how focus shapes interpretation. By linking these experiments to broader issues, such as the housing crisis, Un.focus highlights how generalised framings polarise debate and fragment understanding.

Rather than offering solutions, the project creates tools for reflection—visual and conceptual prompts that invite us to reconsider how we perceive, frame, and engage with the world.
